The title track was inspired by an actual love letter I received while traveling on my first tour. Still at the beginning of a relationship, we're indulging in those dreamy visions of being swept away...
(Factoid: the sweetie behind this letter turned into a 2-year relationship, and did the album art for this project!)
lyrics
Won’t you write me a love letter? Make it real good
Say all those things like a good boyfriend would
Put in your poetry, put in a surprise
Use magic marker, draw hearts on the I’s
And take me away…
Take me away… to you
Won’t you write me a love letter when I’m on the road?
Cuz I’ll need a piece of you to keep in my coat
I’ll read it each morning, I’ll read it each night
You’ll be on my pillow to help me sleep tight
And take me away…
Take me away… to you
Won’t you write me a love letter like I used to do?
Cuz no one has written me one… until you
I don’t got a great track record, but I promise I’ll try
There won’t be enough paper for all the love that we’ll write
To take me away…
Take me away…
Take me away… to you
